Reddit CEO says company is no longer counting on a rebound in Google search traffic
Reddit CEO Steve Huffman said the company is not expecting search traffic from Google to recover, according to a Techub News brief citing Crypto Briefing. He said Reddit is working to reduce its reliance on Google-driven traffic as changes tied to AI-powered search reshape how the company approaches user engagement. The update points to a shift in Reddit’s traffic strategy rather than any expectation of a near-term recovery in referrals from Google search. Huffman’s comments, as cited in the report, frame AI-led changes in search as a factor affecting Reddit’s user engagement plans.
